Educational Activities

CCBR’s main visual tools involve graphic films, such as This Is Abortion and Choice Blues, a stationary display known as the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP), street demonstrations with handheld graphic signs called “Choice” Chain, and a mobile exhibit known as the Reproductive “Choice” Campaign (RCC):

  • This Is Abortion is a 4-minute film that depicts the aftermath of abortion. It begins by comparing the deaths from abortion with deaths from other causes, such as assault.
  • Choice Blues is a three-part movie. The first scene is used in crisis-pregnancy counselling situations and shows the gynecological preparation for an abortion. The second scene shows abortions in progress; that scene depicts 7- to 11-week abortions (suction curettage and sharp curettage), with one shot of a 24-week saline-injection abortion. The third scene pans over remains of aborted babies, again primarily in the first trimester with only one shot of a 24-week-old fetus.
  • The Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) is a display typically, although not solely, set up on college and university campuses. It incorporates pictures of past and present atrocities in a format which compares their victims (e.g., Jews in the Holocaust) to abortion’s victims (the unborn). The signs, 4×8 feet or 6×13 feet, are set up in a populated area where participants can offer pro-life literature to passersby and attempt to engage them in discussion.
  • “Choice” Chain involves volunteers standing on busy, open public sidewalks with 3×4-foot signs that state “choice” and show photos of aborted human beings. Participants offer pro-life literature to passersby and attempt to engage them in discussion. Depending on the number of volunteers and the location, this activity may also include 4×8-foot signs from the GAP.
  • The Reproductive “Choice” Campaign (RCC) involves placing larger versions of the same graphic abortion photos as used in “Choice” Chains on the side and rear panels of box-bodied trucks. The trucks are driven during times of maximum exposure, such as during rush hour.

These visual projects are complemented by apologetics presentations where CCBR speakers equip their audiences with the logic of the pro-life perspective using scientific evidence and philosophical reasoning. CCBR presenters speak in high schools, universities, churches, and other public venues. Furthermore, pro-life apologetics, in written form, complement the visual projects by way of pamphlets, books, and CCBR’s website.
